I’m Ian McCafferty, a junior in the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. More importantly though, I really like sports. I am a fan of the Baltimore Orioles, Baltimore Ravens, New York Knicks, New York Rangers and Manchester United. I’ve lived in Naperville, Illinois for about half of my life, but I “grew up” outside of Baltimore, Maryland. So that’s why I root for the Baltimore teams, and Baltimore doesn’t have a basketball or hockey team so I wound up adopting my Dad’s favorite teams. When did my love of sports start? I’m not really sure actually. I grew up going to Camden Yards with my parents and seeing the Orioles play (and usually lose to) the Yankees. My dad always jokes that the moment I became an Orioles fan was when Scott Brosius hit a go ahead home run for the Yankees in a game we were at, and I started crying. Whatever the moment was, I’ve loved sports for most of my life and love talking and writing about them just as much. With this website I hope to be able to turn all of those long conversations I’ve had with family and friends into writing and have them all in one place. Here’s hoping I can update this site at least semi-regularly, but I am a full time student as well as an aspiring blogger, so we’ll see. Anyway, thanks so much for your time!
